U.S. President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran are moving in a positive direction, expressing confidence that diplomatic efforts are making progress. Speaking to reporters in Los Angeles before boarding Air Force One on Tuesday, Trump said the latest round of discussions had been productive.
“They had a very good day. Negotiations were good,” Trump said, without providing further details about the talks. He also pointed to the recent rise in U.S. stock markets, saying it reflected growing investor confidence amid hopes for easing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, Qatar, which has been playing a key mediating role, said efforts to bring an end to the conflict between the United States and Iran are showing encouraging progress. Qatari officials said mediators continue to work closely with both sides in an attempt to reach a diplomatic solution and prevent further escalation.
However, Iran has rejected President Trump’s claim that direct negotiations are already underway. Tehran maintains that no formal talks have taken place, highlighting a difference in the public statements made by both sides despite ongoing mediation efforts.
The latest developments come as international efforts continue to reduce tensions in the region, with several countries urging both Washington and Tehran to pursue dialogue and avoid further conflict.
