PM Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Asim Munir Perform Umrah During Official Saudi Arabia Visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) General Asim Munir performed Umrah during their official three-day visit to Saudi Arabia. They were accompanied by a high-level Pakistani delegation on the visit, which is taking place at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Shehbaz was joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, CDF General Asim Munir, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi. The delegation also had the honour of making a special visit to the Holy Kaaba.

After performing Umrah, Prime Minister Shehbaz, General Asim Munir, and other members of the delegation offered special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress, and prosperity. They also prayed for the well-being of the Pakistani people, the unity and safety of the Muslim Ummah, and lasting peace and stability in the region and across the world.

Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Jeddah on Thursday, where he was warmly received by Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadli, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, and other senior diplomatic officials.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz is also expected to hold a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders are likely to discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly ties and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, along with exchanging views on the evolving regional situation.
