The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), with the new rates taking effect from Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Petrol has been cut by Rs1.49 per litre, while HSD has become Rs2.73 per litre cheaper.
Following the latest revision, petrol will now be sold at Rs387.54 per litre, down from Rs389.03. The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced from Rs404.97 to Rs402.24 per litre.
The latest adjustment was made under the government’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) calculates the prices using a seven-working-day rolling average of international Platts Arab Gulf prices, along with premiums and other import-related costs.
According to the latest pricing details, the average international price used for petrol declined to $127.92 per barrel, from $128.76 previously, while the average HSD price fell to $111.76 per barrel, from $113.31. Import costs also declined for both products.
The government continues to impose Rs80 per litre in petroleum levy and Rs5 per litre in climate support levy on both petrol and HSD. Dealer and oil marketing company margins, as well as other components of the pricing structure, also form part of the final pump price.
The Petroleum Division said the latest changes were linked to movements in international petroleum prices, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and other related costs.
