Pakistan and African countries have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic and trade ties, with both sides setting an ambitious target of increasing bilateral trade to $15 billion by 2030.
The commitment was made during the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan-Africa Economic Council (PAEC), where officials and business representatives discussed ways to expand cooperation and diversify economic relations between Pakistan and African nations.
Both sides stressed the importance of bringing the private sectors closer together, particularly chambers of commerce and business communities. They also agreed to encourage greater mutual investment and create stronger links between businesses on both sides.
The participants called for comprehensive and long-term planning to make better use of untapped resources and explore new opportunities in trade and investment. They expressed confidence that stronger cooperation could take Pakistan-Africa economic relations to a new level.
The inaugural event featured detailed discussions on expanding trade, promoting investment, strengthening economic cooperation and building closer business ties between Pakistan and African countries. The initiative is aimed at creating new opportunities for businesses while strengthening Pakistan’s economic engagement with the African continent.
