A 16-year-old seasonal lifeguard named Ryder is being praised as a hero after rescuing a 10-year-old boy from powerful waves at Seabright Beach on July 25.
Ryder reportedly battled the dangerous waves for nearly two minutes while holding on to the child and refusing to let him go until additional help arrived. The boy was eventually brought to safety, reunited with his family and is reportedly recovering well.

US President Donald Trump praised Ryder’s bravery and announced that he plans to invite the teenager and his family to the White House. Trump also said that the boy Ryder rescued could potentially be invited to the ceremony as well.
Trump further announced that he wants to present Ryder with a **high civilian honor** in recognition of his courageous actions. Praising the teenager’s bravery, the president said Ryder deserves the honor for risking his own safety to save the young boy.
The heroic rescue has drawn widespread praise, with Ryder being recognized for his courage, quick response and determination to protect the child during the dangerous beach incident.
