Former Australian pacer Ashley Noffke has stepped down as Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach after informing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his decision.
Noffke, who worked with Pakistan for around 16 months, will continue to serve the team in the same capacity during the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
The former Australian cricketer has now been appointed head coach of the Netherlands national team. He will replace Ryan Cook, who is stepping down from the position to spend more time with his family. Noffke has signed a two-year contract with the Netherlands Cricket Board.
Following Noffke’s departure, the PCB has opened applications for the position of bowling coach of the Pakistan men’s national team.
According to the PCB’s job advertisement, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and improving the bowling skills of Pakistan’s national team players. The coach will also be expected to have strong knowledge of modern bowling techniques, game analysis, player development and international coaching standards.
Applicants must hold at least a Level III cricket coaching qualification and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience working with elite cricketers, national or international teams, franchises or similar high-level cricket environments.
The PCB has also stated that candidates should have experience in monitoring coaching systems, developing bowlers and working with athletes according to international standards.
The board is seeking a candidate with strong planning, management, analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication abilities, professionalism, integrity and the capacity to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds are also listed among the requirements.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and coaching software will be considered an additional advantage.
