A Five-Year-Old Child Is Meant to Be Loved”: KP CM Sohail Afridi Gets Emotional Over Ayat Noor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi became emotional while speaking about five-year-old Ayat Noor during his visit to the grieving family in Haripur on Saturday. He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and said that a child of such a young age should only be loved and protected.

The chief minister met Ayat Noor’s father and offered condolences to the family. He assured them of the provincial government’s full support and vowed that those found responsible would face strict punishment according to the law. He also said that no negligence would be tolerated during the investigation or legal proceedings.

Ayat Noor, a five-year-old girl from Haripur, went missing on August 10. Police later recovered her body from a deep, dry well near University Road after an investigation involving CCTV footage, digital evidence and extensive search operations. Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, while the investigation is continuing.

During his visit, Sohail Afridi also announced several measures in Ayat Noor’s memory. He said the proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection Bill would be named after her, while a high school in her area would also be renamed in her memory. He further announced financial assistance and a government job for Ayat Noor’s father.
