A doctor at a private hospital in Karachi’s Nazimabad has rejected allegations that a newborn went missing from the hospital after a woman was admitted for delivery, saying medical examinations did not confirm that she was pregnant.
According to the attending doctor, the woman first visited the hospital in February and underwent medical tests, which showed that she was not pregnant. The doctor said she continued to visit the hospital occasionally, but concerns were later raised about the medical history and documents she presented.
The doctor said the woman claimed to have previously consulted other doctors, but the hospital could not verify those consultations. The doctor also alleged that the handwriting on the medical documents provided by the woman did not appear to match the handwriting of the doctors mentioned in the records.
According to the hospital, the woman was eventually admitted after presenting an ultrasound report stating that she was 28 weeks pregnant. However, the attending doctor alleged that the ultrasound report was fake.
The doctor further stated that subsequent examinations and the latest medical reports also indicated that the woman was not pregnant. Based on these findings, the doctor categorically rejected the allegation that a newborn had gone missing from the hospital.
The hospital has maintained that the claim of a missing baby is false and that there is no evidence of an infant disappearing from the facility. The Nazimabad newborn missing case has nevertheless raised questions on social media, while the conflicting claims and medical documents may require further examination by the relevant authorities to establish the facts.
