Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Hits Back at Nawaz Sharif Over ‘Kashmir, Not Kashmore’ Remark

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has responded to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif following his remarks at a public rally in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

During his address, Nawaz Sharif took a dig at Bilawal, saying that Kashmir should not be confused with Kashmore and Mirpur with Mirpur Khas. He also called for political competition to remain respectful and free from bitterness, violence and hatred.

Bilawal later responded by drawing a comparison between Kashmir and Kashmore as well as Mirpur and Mirpur Khas. He said the people of these areas shared a strong determination to stand up for their rights and would not allow anyone to compromise their interests.

Bilawal also criticised the PML-N and urged voters in Mirpur Division to support the PPP’s election symbol in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir polls. He described the election as an important decision about the rights, development and future of the people of the region.

The exchange between the two senior political leaders has added to the political debate surrounding the AJK elections, with both parties seeking to win public support and strengthen their position in the region.
