LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has handed over two young children to their mother in a custody case, despite the children repeatedly refusing to go with her and crying to remain with their father.
Justice Amir Aijaz Malik heard the petition filed by Ayesha Bibi regarding the custody of her two children. Police brought the children to the court along with their father during the hearing.
The mother’s lawyer told the court that the husband had allegedly taken the children from her and forced her to leave the house. The father, however, rejected the allegation and maintained that his wife had left the children herself and gone to her parents’ home.
The father further told the court that the children did not want to live with their mother and wished to remain with him. During the proceedings, the children reportedly became distressed and cried while expressing their desire to stay with their father.
Despite the children’s reaction, the Lahore High Court ordered that both children be taken from their father’s custody and handed over to their mother.
The case highlights the emotional and legal complexities often involved in child custody disputes, where courts must consider the welfare and best interests of children while examining claims made by both parents.
