Momina Iqbal Rejects Saqib Chadhar’s ‘Clearance’ Claim, Says NCCIA Investigation Still Underway

Actress Momina Iqbal has rejected PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar’s claim that he has been cleared by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in the harassment case filed against him.

In a video shared on Instagram, Iqbal said the matter has not been finally decided and that the NCCIA has been given additional time to investigate the case. She questioned claims suggesting that Chadhar had been declared completely innocent.

The development follows Thursday’s hearing at a Lahore sessions court, where a new investigating officer told the court that Chadhar and his wife did not need to be arrested at the present stage. Their interim pre-arrest bail petitions were subsequently withdrawn and disposed of by the court.

The NCCIA has also issued fresh notices to both Iqbal and Chadhar after new digital evidence emerged. A special investigation team has been formed to review the new evidence as well as records collected during the earlier investigation. The team has been given one month to complete its inquiry and submit its findings.

The latest development does not amount to a final court verdict establishing either side’s guilt or innocence. The NCCIA has said further legal action will depend on the outcome of the fresh investigation.

The case began after Iqbal alleged online harassment, cyberbullying, threats and other forms of intimidation. Chadhar has denied the allegations. The investigation has seen a major shift, as an earlier NCCIA officer had told the court in July that Chadhar had been found guilty during the investigation, while the new investigation has taken a different position.
