A new social media dispute has emerged after TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, also known as Nani Wala, responded to actress Sehar Khan following her criticism of YouTuber Rajab Butt. The exchange has attracted attention online and added another development to the controversy surrounding Butt’s remarks about child abuse.
The controversy began after an old clip from a livestream featuring Rajab Butt and digital creator Zaid Ali resurfaced on social media. In the clip, Butt made an inappropriate joke referring to child sexual abuse, leading to widespread criticism from social media users and several public figures, including Sehar Khan.
Sehar Khan had strongly condemned Butt’s remarks and questioned the type of humour being shared by influencers with large audiences. She also criticised the use of such a serious and sensitive subject as a joke. Butt later issued a public apology, describing his remarks as extremely inappropriate and acknowledging that the seriousness of child abuse meant he should have been more careful with his words.
Following Sehar’s criticism, Nadeem Mubarak responded in an Instagram Story. In his post, he questioned why the actress had spoken strongly about Rajab Butt’s remarks while, according to him, not showing the same level of public attention to other cases involving children and people seeking justice.
Nadeem specifically referred to cases involving Ayzal, six-year-old Muhammad Wali and Mir Raza Ali. He also questioned whether Sehar would speak with the same intensity about other social issues and mentioned the Form 47 controversy and incidents in Karachi. These remarks were presented as his criticism of what he viewed as selective outrage.
His response also included personal comments directed at Sehar Khan, including remarks about her appearance, television viewership and alleged motivation for speaking about the controversy. Those personal remarks have drawn further attention online and have been described by some reports and social media users as derogatory.
The exchange has now shifted part of the discussion away from Rajab Butt’s original comments and towards the disagreement between Sehar Khan and Nadeem Mubarak. While Butt has already apologised for his remarks, the latest social media posts have continued to fuel debate about public accountability, selective criticism and the way celebrities and influencers respond to sensitive issues.
